I was looking for a Bench Drill Press for my R/C Modelling Hobby. I'm a retired manufacturing engineer so I'm pretty "fussy" about what I'm willing to purchase. I decided to give this "re-furbed" unit a try based upon the price and BOY oh BOY was I SURPRISED. The accuracy and precision of this unit is truly amazing! Using a Dial Test Indicator, I checked the T.I.R. (Total Indicator Run-out) of the Jacobs 33T spindle and discovered it only varied by "0.0005" inches Off-Center. CNC machines costing hundreds of thousands of dollars aren't much more precise than this. So, to say I'm pleasantly surprise is a HUGE understatement!!! The rest of the machine is very nice as well. The only problem I've had, and this is a minor one, in my opinion, is the hand crack clamp for the drill table. I wound up having to put a washer between the hank crank screw and the table crank housing in order to make the handle system more affective and efficient. Other than that rather minor issue, I can't say enough about this "re-furbed" Drill Press.

i bought a reconditioned press,looks brandnew and performs the same
some people may not care for the belt driven system to change speed, but it only takes 2 minutes or less to change,not a big deal to me
i like the tilting table for angled work
when i recieved mine in the box, i had to put it together,don't freak out,very easy to assemble and very good instructions
for the price i paid for this, and the abbility in its performance, iwould recomend for pro or diy

I've needed a drill press for a while. This one came with a good price. I've used it several times and am pleased with its performance. The only thing I don't particularly like is the looseness of the table when it's unlocked to be moved. It's not as smooth as I'd like it to be.

As a retired master electrician I've used some of the very best professional tools available. This press just makes me smile. It is extremely adequate, space saving, rugged, and I could go on. It's a great addition to my home shop.
