Nice produc, easy to use..but it spins to create a line and it spins too slow so the laser line is not sharp and somewhat broken up.

The reconditioned model was more accurate than a new one I tried from a local big box store. The new one was within specified accuracy but the recon was better, almost dead on.

I bought this for building a deck. It has proven to be very helpful and accurate but has one major downside; the laser is weak. I had difficulty seeing the red line outside so I placed it in the none rotating mode and used the red dot as my point. Even by using the included red glasses it was difficult to see outside.
I also tried it inside with the same result obtained. It was somewhat easier to see especially when using the glasses.
Skil needs to put a higher powered laser diode into this model. Currently it is far too weak for practical applications,

this compact and lightweight but we found it hard to set up and get level enough for accuracy needed for siding.I would not reccomend this for a long distance line one quarter inch in 50 feet is dreaming

For a manual leveling laser, this is an OK devise. There appears to be a second laser dot at all times. It is much smaller so easy to differentiate for the one your supose to read. If your going to use it outside need to use it in low light. The stand is flemsy when you extend it fully. Reconditioned unit is as good as new.

I used a board as a rod, & used this laser to shoot grade on fill dirt I'm putting in yard, to make a wheelchair ramp. If a person has a bit of knowledge about surveying, could use this product for a lot more things then it was entended to do. Great product, would buy again in a heartbeat.

As soon as the delivery guy dropped it off the kids (14 and 15) had it out set up and were sending me pics of it (I was still at work). So the setup is easy, leveling is easy and as accurate as you can get it with bubble levels. Inside it works great, outside... not bad.. but you have to wait for overcast or evening to see it very well even with the included glasses. But I would not think they would turn a brighter laser over to the general public for safety reasons (shining them it pilots eyes, etc). All in all, this is a very good level for your average do-it-yourselfer and around the house... contractor though.. not so much because you will be working mostly in full sunlight. Most of my "after work work" is done in the evenings anyway, so the dim laser is not much of an issue.
