I use the drill as a DIY and worked very well when new. Now drill is a couple of years old and both batteries won't hold a charge, even overnight. Replacement batteries are expensive, might as well throw the drill out as buy batteries for it.

Used within its suggested paramiters it does well. Just don't over extend its purpose and it will operate for you just fine.

the forward/reverse buttons seem backwards compared to other drills I have used.

same model as one I own accept this one didn't come with a light pointer. Low gear speeds the gears slip, is it returnable?

this is a good cordless tool for the money, i have had an 18v in the past and it lasted about 10yrs. and i used it to remodel 2 different homes in that time. i still have a 14v that i purchased about that time also. and it still works-- skill-- great tools for the money!!!!!

I'm a master carpenter with over forty years in my trade. I have other cordless drills & their battery last twice as long as Skil. I've bought three drills & each one the high speed gears slip after six mouths of use.

Very Disappointed in the battery life. Also, very disappointed that you are still using cheap unreliable NI-Cad batteries!!! I doubt the batteries will last a year!!!!!!

I do like the drill, its power and handling.

I use this drill daily. So much so that one of the original batteries wouldn't recharge after a months use. It was replaced under warranty quickly and easily and I haven't had any difficulty with it since. It's rugged and drives 3.5 inch deck screws with easy. It's well balanced and doesn't put unnecessary stress on your hand when reaching for an awkward position.

From driving screws to drilling heavy metal, this product has performed greater than my expectations and I don't know how any one from Ryobi up can compare. Electronic brake, two digit torque levels, forward or reverse indicators, project lighting, quick change bits and more. I and overwhelmed when it comes to this product and have used a competitor that cost several hundred dollars more that it rivals.

the drill itself is good, but one of the reasons I bought it was for the extra batteries and as I said they were D.O.A.

The drill is great but the batteries seem to degrade too fast. Even when they are discharged and charged by the instuctions.

I use a couple drills at a time. I set them up with different drill bits or driver heads. This allows me to keep on moving when I need more than one size tool at a time.

i brought one , and then when i put metal roofing on my home i brought the second one they are the best no problems

The drill ( and other Skil products ) is good, but I have gone through several ( 5 ) batteries. I now believe it is time to scrap the entire Skil set ( drill, sawzall, skil saw and flashlight ) and get another product. Batteries are expensive and I could havew bought an entire set up for what I have spent on replacement batteries.
